About This Information Directory

This website is an independent informational resource focused on physical entertainment and poker-related venues in Germany.

We collect and organise publicly available reference information such as venue names, locations and general descriptions. Our purpose is to make publicly available information easier to find and understand.

We are not a gambling operator, casino operator, poker room or betting service. We do not accept wagers, process deposits or withdrawals, provide gaming accounts or facilitate gambling transactions.

Information may change over time. Visitors should always confirm current venue conditions, age requirements, opening hours and applicable rules directly with the relevant venue.

Why This Directory Exists

Information about physical gaming venues in Germany is scattered. A venue's own website is written to promote that venue, tourism portals repeat outdated descriptions, and search results are dominated by commercial pages that exist to send visitors somewhere rather than to describe anything. Someone who simply wants to know which building is where, what kind of establishment it is and whether the entry is recent has to piece that together from several sources.

This directory does one narrow job: it holds a short, plain, comparable record for each location we cover, written in the same structure every time, in English, with the date of the last check printed on the entry. It is a reference sheet, not a recommendation, and it is deliberately smaller in scope than the venue websites it points readers back to.

Editorial Purpose and Principles

The land-based entertainment landscape in Germany operates under specific state gaming regulations (Glücksspielstaatsvertrag). Our editorial goal is to aggregate static directory information — such as published addresses, venue classifications and general public information — into a structured, clean format for adult research.

Four principles govern what appears on these pages:

  • Only what can be checked. If a detail cannot be traced to information the venue or a public authority has itself published, it is left out rather than estimated.
  • Description, not persuasion. Entries describe what a place is. They do not rate venues, rank them, recommend one over another or encourage a visit.
  • Stable facts over volatile ones. We publish the kind of information that changes rarely, and point readers to the venue for anything that changes often.
  • Visible dates over claims of accuracy. Every entry shows when it was last reviewed, so readers can judge how much weight to give it, instead of a badge asserting the data is complete.

What Each Listing Contains

Every entry in the venue directory follows the same six fields, so two locations can be compared without reading around inconsistent descriptions:

  • Venue Name — the name under which the establishment publicly operates.
  • Location — the city and country, used for the directory filters and the map.
  • Address — the street address of the physical building, in German postal format.
  • Venue Type — a short classification, for example a land-based casino with a poker room, or a historic venue.
  • Information — one or two neutral sentences describing what kind of place it is and where it sits in its city.
  • Last Checked — the date on which the entry was last reviewed against public sources.

Listing Verification Policy

Every physical location published on circusbelgiumsa.com corresponds to a real, state-licensed physical building in Germany. We do not publish fictional or unverified club names, and we do not invent neighbourhood-sounding venue names to fill out the map.

Before an entry is published, the venue name and street address are compared against the information the operator publishes itself and against publicly available address records. Where the two disagree, the entry is held back rather than published with a best guess. Entries are reviewed again periodically, and the date of the most recent review is printed on the listing.

This is a review process, not a guarantee. A venue can change its address, its classification or its opening status the day after a review, and nothing on this website will reflect that until the next check. The date on the entry tells you how old the information is; the venue itself tells you what is true today.

What We Deliberately Do Not Publish

Several categories of information are excluded on purpose, because they change faster than any external directory can track them and because publishing them stale is worse than not publishing them at all:

  • opening hours, seasonal closures and public holiday schedules;
  • table limits, buy-ins, entry fees and any monetary figures;
  • tournament calendars, event schedules and promotional activity;
  • dress codes, membership conditions and house rules;
  • licence numbers, licence status or any statement about a venue's regulatory standing;
  • photographs presented as pictures of a specific venue's building or interior.

For all of the above, the venue's own published information is the only reliable source, and readers should use it before travelling.

Regulatory Context in Germany

Land-based gaming venues in Germany are regulated at the level of the individual federal state. State legislation, together with the Interstate Treaty on Gambling (Glücksspielstaatsvertrag), determines which establishments may operate in each state and under what conditions. This is why a venue in Hamburg and a venue in Baden-Württemberg may be subject to noticeably different rules despite appearing similar from the street.

Two consequences matter for anyone using a directory such as this one. First, entry to a physical venue is restricted to adults, official photographic identification is checked at the door, and some federal states set a minimum age above 18. Second, Germany operates a nationwide exclusion register, so a person who has registered a self-exclusion cannot be admitted at any participating venue regardless of which state it is in. Both points are covered in more detail on our 18+ responsible gambling page.

Nothing on this website is legal advice, and we do not interpret German gambling law for individual situations. Where the legal position matters to you, consult the applicable state regulations or a qualified adviser.

Independence and Funding

This directory is editorially independent of every venue it lists. No venue pays to be included, to be described in a particular way or to be positioned above another, and no venue has been given approval over the wording of its entry. There are no affiliate links, tracking redirects or cloaked destinations anywhere on the site: an external link opens the address its text names, and it opens the same address for every visitor and for search engine crawlers.

The site is also technically plain by design. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts and embeds no third-party widgets, which is set out in full in our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.

Who This Website Is For

The directory is written in English for an adult audience researching physical locations in Germany — typically visitors planning a trip, readers comparing what exists in different cities, or anyone who simply wants a venue's address in a readable format. It is not aimed at, and is not suitable for, anyone under 18.

It is equally useful to know what this website will not do for you. It will not tell you whether a venue is open today, what it costs to enter, what is running this weekend, or whether a place is worth visiting. Those are questions for the venue.

Corrections and Contact

Corrections are the main way a directory of this kind stays useful. If an address has changed, a classification is wrong, a location has closed or a description no longer matches the place, please tell us through the editorial contact form and choose "Report an Incorrect Listing". Reported corrections are checked against public sources, and the entry is amended and re-dated once the correction can be confirmed. Our full editorial position is set out in the editorial disclaimer.

How We Maintain This Directory

Venue information is compiled from publicly available information and editorial research. Listings may be reviewed periodically, but we cannot guarantee that third-party information remains current. If you identify an inaccurate listing, please contact our editorial team.

Photographs shown with each listing are general architectural views of the relevant city or region. They are illustrative and do not depict the building, interior or signage of the venue named in the listing.
